Building a new home or doing a renovation or extension?

You will require termite protection to meet Australian Standards. Without it, you will not be issued your certificate of occupancy and cannot finalise your building permit.

All penetrations, including plumbing, electrical and joins in the slab, require treatment or physical barriers before the slab is poured. The perimeter of the slab or home requires a chemical treatment or physical barrier before the frame is installed.

Stump and footing constructed homes require all stumps and footings to be treated either chemically or with a physical barrier depending on the construction method. Ant caps should still be fitted, but are not a termite treatment and still require a barrier.

Annual Termite Inspections

Did you know termite damage is not covered by home insurance?

Annual termite inspections are recommended every 12 months as a minimum under Australian Standards.

Termite inspections are designed to find activity before it is too late. Garden beds, landscaping, concrete paths, renovations and stored goods can bridge or breach termite barriers.

If you think you may have termites, leave it for a professional to look at and book in a termite inspection. Our inspection comes with a written report highlighting concerns and recommendations.
